The purpose of this program is to give baseball players and coaches from Japan and the United States an opportunity to learn about their respective cultures through the great game of baseball. This is truly a wonderful and potentially life-changing opportunity for Tierrasanta families.

In the summer of 2008, Japanese players (ages 12-14) will be selected to come to San Diego for home stays, baseball clinics & games, and cultural activities.  The JSSDT is seeking Tierrasanta baseball players (ages 12-14) and their families who are interested in hosting 2 Japanese players in their homes. Those participating this year will have a high chance of participating in 2009 when Tierrasanta players will travel to Yokohama, Japan to experience Japanese baseball and culture.

2008 Program highlights (free of charge for all players and coaches):
  • 1-2 baseball clinics/practices
  • 3-4 baseball games (“friendlies” between Japanese and American teams)
  • 2 Padres games
  • Day at Sea World
  • Day at the San Diego Zoo
  • Farewell Dinner

2009 Yokohama Program Fee: $ 800 per player (includes airfare, home stays, meals, & all activities)

Families outside of Tierrasanta are welcome
